Jump Starters.
Heavy-duty starting power engineered for mining, transport, defence, and industrial fleets.
Durst jump starters are built for operators who can’t afford downtime. Whether you’re maintaining a fleet of American-style trucks, supporting heavy transport operations, or managing ultra-class mining equipment, Durst delivers industrial-grade starting performance where reliability matters most.
Every unit is engineered in Australia, field-tested in extreme environments, and built to start the toughest diesel engines safely, consistently, and without risk to sensitive electronics.
The Durst Jump Starter Lineup
Below are the three core categories in the U.S. range.
Each solves a different operational problem and is engineered for a different segment of heavy industry.
Capacitor-based starting power for mining, transport, and defence.
Hypastart is Durst’s flagship industrial jump starting platform — a rugged, battery-free starting system that delivers extreme cranking power, rapid recharge capability, and long service life. Unlike battery jump starters, Hypastart uses high-density capacitors, allowing it to deliver massive current instantly, recharge repeatedly without degradation, and operate in extreme temperatures.
Hypastart comes in multiple industry-specific configurations, each designed to integrate seamlessly into existing electrical systems.
Mining Specification (CAT-Compatible)
Optimised for mining operations and ultra-class haul trucks.
This configuration includes a CAT jump socket, matching the industry-standard electrical interface used across mining fleets. It’s built to start massive diesel engines, withstand harsh mine environments, and provide safe starting power without sparks, spikes, or risk to electronics.
Key advantages:
- CAT receptacle for mining vehicles
- Starts engines up to 80L (X4500)
- Dust, vibration, and temperature resistant
- Safe for mine-site electronics
- No internal battery = zero maintenance downtime
Transport Specification (Anderson-Compatible)
Purpose-built for logistics operators, service fleets, and large American-style trucks.
This version includes Anderson connectors, with options for clamp cables or dual-Anderson setups.
It solves one of the biggest problems in the transport world:
12V trucks with long cable runs and high resistance, especially those running Cummins systems or configured as road trains. These trucks are notoriously difficult to start — and Hypastart provides the instant high-amp output needed to overcome those losses.
Key advantages:
- Anderson connectors standard
- Perfect for fleets, buses, and service vehicles
- Rapid recharge from AC or DC
- Safe for modern truck electronics
- Ideal for road-train and long-rig starting challenges
Defence Specification (NATO-Compatible)
For military, emergency, and heavy rescue environments, this Hypastart configuration includes NATO-spec connectors, ruggedised casings, and high-reliability internal components suitable for extreme conditions.
Key advantages:
- NATO connectors
- Rugged aluminium enclosure
- EMP-resistant capacitor platform
- Suitable for armoured vehicles, heavy rescue, and field operations
Models Covered (All Industries)
- Hypastart X4500 (Transport / Mine / Defence variants)
- Hypastart X2500 (Transport)
All models feature:
- High-density capacitor technology (no battery)
- Reverse polarity & anti-spark protection
- Operating range: -40°C to +70°C
- Cycle life > 1,000,000 starts
- Field-serviceable components
Optional: Hypacharge — Full Recharge in Under 60 Seconds
Hypastart units can be paired with the Hypacharge module, allowing them to recharge in under one minute — a huge advantage in mining, transport, and emergency environments.
While EVs can take hours to recharge, Hypacharge gives fleets a near-instant turnaround, keeping critical operations moving.
Compact, high-output jump starters for American-style trucks and heavy fleets.
Truck Master jump starters deliver exceptional cranking power in a lightweight handheld form factor. They are designed specifically to overcome the starting challenges common in 12V American-style trucks — long cable runs, high resistance, and the demanding start profiles of Cummins engines.
These units offer the power of much larger jump starters in a compact, portable package.
Truck Master 12V
- 8000A peak output
- Ideal for large 12V trucks, road trains, and long-rig starting
- Solves voltage drop and resistance problems common in long cable systems
- Lightweight and easy for operators to handle
The 12V Truck Master is one of the most powerful handheld units in its class and is a trusted solution for fleet operators who need reliable starting power on the road or in remote areas.
Truck Master 24V
- 4000A peak output
- Suitable for heavy commercial fleets, coaches, emergency vehicles, and diesel machinery
- Rugged, reliable, and designed for daily workshop use
Both Truck Master models are engineered for professional operators who need dependable performance without compromise.
Extreme output, multi-voltage, and GPU-capable.
The T-Rex is Durst’s most powerful jump starter — a massive industrial unit designed for heavy diesel engines, maintenance depots, and workshops. With selectable 12/24V output, it delivers enormous cranking power for the largest equipment on site.
Because of its sustained output capability, T-Rex is also widely used as a GPU (Ground Power Unit) for workshops and service yards.
A 72V variant is available for locomotive and rail maintenance, but the primary model for the U.S. market is the selectable 12/24V unit.
Ideal for:
- Heavy mining equipment
- Industrial diesel machinery
- Fleet workshops & depots
- Rail maintenance (72V variant)
Where These Jump Starters Are Used
Durst jump starters are deployed across industries where downtime is unacceptable.
Rather than repeat generic industry lists, here are real examples of how operators use them:
- Mining: Hypastart Mine units start ultra-class haul trucks via CAT sockets.
- Transport: Truck Master solves 12V Cummins and road-train starting challenges.
- Defence: Hypastart Defence units integrate with NATO-spec connectors.
- Heavy Workshops: T-Rex serves as both a high-output starter and GPU.
Each product is built to meet the specific demands of its environment — from underground mines to long-distance highway operations.
